This contains big time spoilers. If you haven’t watched the episode, I am advising you turn back now. Save yourself.**

So, she’s a shapeshifter. Daphne is a deer changing shapeshifter bad waitress. Good one, Alan Ball. This is completely not book 2, which is kind of the running theme of last night’s show in my opinion. I feel like the book Dead in Dallas is a part of the witness protection program because the names and events have all been changed so much. Anyway, Daphne is just like Sam, but I still don’t trust her.
Can we get a few more scenes with Terry? I really like his character, he makes me smile. And apparently he makes Arlene smile as well. Or, he did out in those woods at Tara’s party. Sookie decides to not only annoy us, but she starts virtually stalking Barry the Bellhop telepath as well. Barry tells Sookie the vamps of Dallas are badass and he has no desire to share his gift with them or her for that matter. Alright I REALLY have to ask, what in the Twilight is going on with all these sappy sweet syrup moments between Sookie and Bill? I don’t know if it’s just me, but it’s gotten way over the top with we’re in love jazz. We get it, move on. For some reason that escapes me, Sookie doesn’t know what a continental breakfast consists of and that it’s free. Really She was kind of over annoying to me in this episode.
Back in Bon Temps, Tara wakes up from her night of birthday sex and starts reflecting on her sad little life and how Mrs. Stackhouse was kind of the only mother figure she ever had. Awww, I too miss her and those delicious looking breakfast she always made. In Dallas, Stupid Hot is having his first day at Vampire Slayer Bootcamp. I mean seriously, has it occurred to Jason that this “camp” is full of the crazy. But he forges on anyway, trying to be the best he can be. Simper Vamp, I guess.
One more time, I still do not trust Daphne and I love the way Arlene of the bad red wig absolutely hates her. That makes me happy. Maryann also started to show her full crazy, by announcing that she, Eggs and the servant dude would like to move into Stackhouse manor. Tara of course protested, she after all is a visitor as well, this lead to an argument with Eggs, who did little in my opinion to explain the ”relationship” between he and Maryann. We’re a family, is not cutting it, hot abs. We’re gonna need a little more than that.
We get our introduction to Stan and Isabel in this episode, who looks absolutely nothing like the characters from the book. I mean Stan was like unber-nerd in the book, but instead we got a Stetson wearing hot dude from Eureka. Ok, maybe that’s the consolation because Chow in the book hot, Chow on tv, not. Anyway, Stan does not agree with Eric’s plan to find the missing Godric. But Sookie agrees to go undercover at the church to do so. I just wanted her to take her clothes off and throw them away. Did you see her in that red disaster of an outfit? What the hell?
Meanwhile, Jason excels at being vampire slayer solider of the year and gets rewarded by Sara in a “real hands on” kind of way. At Marlotte’s Maryann puts a spell on everyone making them all turn on Tara, which of course makes her decides she needs her little family around afterall. Most importantly last night we got glorious Eric’s back-story. It seems Godric “made” Eric the Viking, Eric the Vampire years ago. He reveals this fact to Bill, so now I’m all about Godric as well. I really want to see more of this character. I can’t wait to see how he is fleshed out on screen.
Just for good measure Maryann did her best impression of the late Mrs. Stackhouse, right down to the apron. Consoling Tara after her bad night at the bar. I was seriously like damn, Tara wake up and smell the housedress.* BTW, if you haven’t heard, I don’t trust Daphne. Lfayette made a fabulous return to Marlotte’s, but he was really not himself. We ended the episode with more of Bill and Sookie banter, that I wasn’t listening to. Something about love and sex or whatever, and Bill’s maker made her first appearance this season. Uh, oh, Sookie it’s on. *If you don’t know what a housedress is, ask someone southern for a definition
Overall the episode was good, not ground breaking or earth shattering. I would give the episode an 7/10 if I were rating it. Thoughts, groans, moans?
I will leave you guys with these questions for next week’s episode:
Our friend, Lafayette, has changed since his ordeal, will he be this way from now on?
What is the deal with Eggs? Does he know what Maryann is and is he in on the plan?
Will Bill’s maker take Sookie shopping for a cute little maxi dress? Will she stop wearing the June Cleaver 1956 Summer Collection?
What is Daphne’s plan? Why and how did she manage to find Sam?
Will Sister Sara continue to bathe Jason?

I love the backstory of Eric and Godric and am looking forward to Bill's maker and her return.
I kept watching Isabel thinking I had seen the actress somewhere before when it hit me that she played Jimmy Smits' characters wife last season on Dexter. Eureka!
I look forward to the exchange between Lafayette and Eric's right hand lady (can't recall her name/too lazy to google).
This whole Maryann storyline is growing tiring to me. Not because it isn't dramatic but mostly because it makes no damn sense. Throw in the deer shiftshaper and I am all kinds of confused. I know they are leading to the season ending episode where Maryann gets hers but I don't know if my nerves can handle more episodes with her. Perhaps when she is onscreen I can file my nails or something.
Jason in the bathtub = hubba hubba
I agree Sookie needs to quit playin with the outfits. In the words of Lafayette - Hookah Please!
1Sookie -- I know right! Yes, the Maryann storyline is all kinds of clumsey and drawnout. I'm about to start tuning her out along with Sookie and Bill's banter. Seriously, last night I was trying to decide whether Bill had moobs or he just needs to hit the gym harder.
Smile Like You Mean It!
2I can't even comment anymore on my utter disappointment with this show.
3I am on the same page with the Maryann storyline. I think is is way to draw out and they are not giving you enough info to even guess what she is or what she really wants. I think the Daphane is under Maryanm's control and Sam should be very careful.
4Not only does Bill have moobs, LaLa but his hair looks like a dead rodent on his head. Awful wig.
5Thank you Audrey, he looks more beat this season than last for some reason. And he keeps slipping in and out of his accent.
Smile Like You Mean It!
6I felt this episode dragged a lot. Why was Sookie so obsessed with the Bellboy? I mean, he made it quite clear that he wants to lay low. Wake up Sookie, you're not in Bon Temps anymore, where Bill could save your pretty little tush every time you played naive small town girl. Sheesh, the lack of common sense in that girl is astounding.
Eggs looks suspicious to me. Obviously he's been around Maryann long enough to notice how things get around her and seems to be ok with it. My guess is that he's a groupie lol, in the sense that he wants that power for himself.
I missed Lafayette in this episode. And he looked so sad too
audreystar thanks lol, I couldn't place her at all but she seemed so familiar. They kinda went a bit too far with the make-up imo.
I didn't recognize Bill's maker though, thought she was some random vamp smelling blood.
7I didn't recognize Bill's maker either.
I hope Lafayette returns to his oldself... otherwise why did they bother to keep him alive, if they were going to make him boring?!
This episode wasn't the best, kinda boring, but I do still adore the show.
8I finally just got a chance to watch this last night and was discussing it with my sister afterward. We decided that:
91. Anna Paquin is RUINING Sookie Stackhouse's character. It's not just the cheesy writing of her character, but her acting is just atrocious this season. I didn't remember her being so bad last season, and I felt a lot more connected to Sookie and Bill as characters last season than I do this season. And I think it's because I might hate Anna Paquin!
2. I think a lot of the sugary sweet scenes between Bill and Sookie (or at least I hope this is the case), are just leading up the audience to make it even more heartbreaking when they break up (and since Lorena is entering the picture, I think it might be soon).
3. Daphne obviously has something to do with Maryann, but I don't know if Maryann has the power to make Daphne a shapeshifter because she scratched her or something? Also, WHY does Sam never mention anything about the grotesque scratches on her back? Gross. I hate thinking that something sad and bad is going to happen to Sam, I like his character so much in the book and the show, he just seems like he needs to catch a break.
4. Jason, Jason, Jason.
@ "Not only does Bill have moobs, LaLa but his hair looks like a dead rodent on his
head. Awful wig."
10I agree that the sweetness between Sook and Bill is overkill. We know you guys are hot for each other...shouldn't the sappiness have cooled a little bit by now??
I am just now catching up on the first book. I'm over halfway finished with the thing and there's no mention of Tara. Did Alan Ball create her? I wouldn't have thought he added such a major character to the storyline.
Nothing good can come from Sara and Jason's rendevous. That sounds like the beginning of a major clusterf*ck. Ruh Roh.
Like the back story with Godric and yummy Eric's past.
I'm ready for Season 1 Lafayette to come back!
11just have to share- have you guys seen this yet??
