Shutter (2008) starring Joshua Jackson and Rachel Taylor is a movie about a young couple who seem to find thier photographs haunted by a young woman after a tragic accident.
I just watched this movie and if I were to rate 1-10 I'd go with a 5 or maybe a 6. Gotta love that Pacey! It seems pretty different from it's Japaneze counterpart in terms of story so don't use that as a starting point. The movie is rather predictable and if you've ever seen a horror movie about a girl done wrong you'll find yourself on familiar ground. I didn't jump as often as I'd like while watching a good ghost story but I will say this about the ending...sometimes you get what you deserve and the ending was very appealing.

I want them to stop remaking the Japanese movies, they never come out as well.

1if i remember correctly, the original wasn't japanese, but it was thai.

3This one is in my Netflix queue, I am sure it will be entertaining!
4I actually went to see 'Shutter' at the weekend as I am definitely a fan of Joshua Jackson and the movie is not bad at all..it certainly does not merit all the rubbish reviews it has received.
5People should just see it for what it is, a mainstream remake of a cult Thai horror film. The bonus for me was that JJ is so 'hot' in this film, even though his character is a not-so-nice kinda guy.
NatUK, you hit the nail on the head. JJ was super hot and you sort of know that he doesn't consider himself a "bad" person. I think that really made the movie better for me. His reaction. And of course the ending.
Some days it's not even worth chewing through the restraints.
