I just bought the first one and plan to start it this weekend. I love the show and can't wait for next season. If anyone has read it, will I love it or be disappointed?

Alan Ball Advocate Interview Drops ‘True Blood’ Season 3 Spoilers

Alan Ball gave an interview with Advocate and he let some good information slip regarding Season 3 drop.
We'll be meeting the vampire king of Mississippi and his long, long-term companion -- and by long-term I mean really long-term -- Talbot. I think Lafayette may meet a love interest, and certainly Pam, who works with Eric, she's certainly got a lesbian vibe -- I don't know that that's all she is, but she certainly does seem to appreciate the women.

I was kind of hoping Eric and Lafayette would have something, because think of the cattiness Pam would unleash at the idea of that.
I think Sophie-Anne is definitely interested in Sookie; I don't believe it's for sexual or romantic reasons but she is definitely interested in Sookie and whatever it is about Sookie that is special beyond the realm of what is human, and that's something that we definitely will learn more about in the upcoming season.

About those book things…
How much as writers do you stay true to the book series?
I think we try to stay very true to the spirit of the book series. We have made changes. The books are all narrated by Sookie, so the books are basically all Sookie's story. We definitely have -- in fleshing out the other characters -- been creative. I think where we may not stay true to the books entirely, we do try to stay very true to the spirit of them.

Do you and Charlaine discuss changes you have in mind for the character and story development on the show?
No. Charlaine put it very succinctly at Comic-Con -- she said, "I don't tell Alan how to write his show and he doesn't tell me how to write my books." We have a very, very good relationship; a mutual respect and admiration relationship, and I think the books have certainly been good for the show and the show has certainly been good for the books, but they are two completely different mediums and I think we both respect the boundaries of that.

You've said recently that a character will die in season 3. Will this story line follow the third book?
I'm a little leery to answer these questions because if I say yes it just gives it away. For people who read the books, some things will not come as a surprise. But for people who don't read the books, it will be a surprise.

Are we excited? I miss this show. And FYI, Jason gets naked again!!!
There's no shortage of man candy on the show and Jason is back in Bon Temps and he may be up to his old ways. I can tell you that you'll definitely get to see a lot of Jason in the first few episodes, and by a lot, I mean a lot physically.

See it! Paranormal Activity

This weekend I finally got around to watching Paranormal Activity and I have to say, not bad. The story as you might have heard involves Micah and Katie. We find out early on that Katie has been haunted on and off by an unseen entity. Micah, her boyfriend doesn’t quite believe it so he decides to start videotaping their nights. This only seems to escalate the situation and the haunting gets more intense. In fact, Micah who clearly has never watched a horror movie seems to go out of his way to make this entity even angrier. And we already know this means he is doomed. Meanwhile Katie invites a Physic in who turns out to be my favorite character, especially on his second visit. Watch for it.

Shot Blair Witchstyle it was just what horror needed right now. Paranormal Activity is character driven and actually told a story without relying on torture porn tactics and CGI. If you watch this with forgetting you ever saw Blair Witch or any other “reality-based” horror you will enjoy yourself. My one big gripe is the theatrical ending, it’s a bit of let down in my opinion. But, the movie has some patented “scares” and some humor in spots to keep it light. Yes, you will question most moves the couple makes, but you will enjoy their mistakes. This movie is not a life-changer but it is highly entertaining. I would say overall see it!

‘Fear Clinic’ Debuts Monday

Being the huge fan that I am of Robert Englund I have pur-ty much watched everything he’s done with the exception of Zombie Strippers ( a girl has to have her limits), so I am excited about this tidbit. Starting Monday, October 26th, FEARnet's brand-new web series Fear Clinic will be on-line. I’ve got the warm and fuzzies again.

Once more so you can catch up here are the horrortales: Englund's maniacal Dr. Andover tries to cure his patients' darkest fears with terrifying hallucinations. The series also stars Jason aka Kane Hodder as a really messed up orderly.

Hollywood Monster: A Walk Down Elm Street with the Man of Your Dreams

Our favorite horror legend, Robert Englund has written a book. Not sure if he used Freddy’s glove to do it or not. Anyway, Englunds’s book is called, Hollywood Monster: A Walk Down Elm Street with the Man of Your Dreams . Nice title. The forward for this sure to be epic was written by two other horror power legends, Tobe Hooper and Wes Craven. Of course they did. Here are the literary-tales: ONE...TWO...FREDDY'S COMING FOR YOU....

You've seen him in the A Nightmare on Elm Street series -- and in your darkest dreams. The sadistic killer with the flame-charred face. The knife-blade claws. The razor-sharp wit. Freddy...But you've never seen him like this. Unflinching. Uncensored. Unmasked.
Meet Robert Englund, the award-winning actor best known for his role as Freddy Krueger -- the legendary horror icon featured on the American Film Institute's "100 Greatest Heroes and Villains" roster -- a character as unforgettable and enduring as Bela Lugosi's Dracula and Boris Karloff's Frankenstein. Now, for the first time, the man behind the latex mask tells his story in this captivating new memoir, published to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the first A Nightmare on Elm Street film.
You see, Robert Englund is no monster at all, but a deeply funny, charming Hollywood veteran. Packed with Robert's hilarious stories, playful self-deprecation, and a generous helping of never-before-revealed A Nightmare on Elm Street trivia, Hollywood Monster offers an unparalleled look at the beloved film icon. With insider savvy and gallows humor, Robert recounts his audition for Wes Craven, the inspiration for Freddy's character, the grueling makeup sessions, his soon-to-be-famous costars, the often disastrous on-set blunders, and the wave of popularity that propelled this humble California surfer kid all the way to the top.
Of course, fame and fortune as Freddy came years after the young actor shared a trailer with screen legend Henry Fonda, was punched in the face by Richard Gere, took down Burt Reynolds, and muscled his way between Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sally Field, and Jeff Bridges.
But soon after his high-profile stint in the groundbreaking TV miniseries V, Robert Englund took on the most celebrated role of his career -- the macabre and wisecracking killer who quickly became a household name. From the moment Freddy Krueger dragged his claws across a rusty pipe in the opening dream sequence, a legend had been unleashed -- and a star was born. This is his story.
"Welcome to prime time, b*tch." -- Frederick Charles Krueger, bastard son of a hundred maniacs
‘The Crazies’ Trailer Released

Here are the deathtails:
The American Dream goes horribly wrong when the residents of this picture-perfect town begin to succumb to an uncontrollable urge for violence and the horrific bloodshed escalates into anarchy. In an attempt to contain the epidemic, the military uses deadly force to close off access into or out of town, abandoning the few healthy citizens to the growing mayhem as depraved killers lurk in the shadows.
See it! Grace

I would love to tell you this is a different take on killer baby movie and that this movie changes to tale and does something original. I would love to tell you that, but I can’t.
Grace is the tale of Madeline Matheson and her 8-month-old fetus who dies during an accident while still inside her; she insists on delivering the stillborn child -- only to discover that the baby is alive and heinously hungry. Before long, voracious baby Grace spurns milk and forces Madeline to slake her insatiable appetite for blood.
Grace is just like it’s predecessors and its not much different than It’s Alive!. It does try in part to trick the viewer into believing something even more sinister is going inside the mother’s head, nice try but no prize. Overall, the movie is entertaining enough, but missing the different I think Grace wants to have.
